Happy 9th Birthday, Alana!!!

Well, today is Alana's 9th birthday! I simply can't believe it! I remember the day she was born so well even though it seems like ages ago! She was my longest labor, but was finally born at 6:30 something in the morning. The dr. barely made it for this birth as well, but there was another dr. there ready to deliver. When Alana finally decided it was time to be born, she didn't waste any time. The nurses gave me a double shot of epidural to make sure I couldn't feel anything to try to keep Alana in until the dr. made it. I had been in labor since midnight the day before, so I was quite tired. All I really cared about at that moment was making sure she was a girl. When she was born, I remember asking them if she was a girl and I remember hearing "Just a minute, honey". I didn't understand why they wouldn't just tell me. Come to find out later, Alana's umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice, she was blue and not breathing. I had no idea! My mom was behind me, crying her eyes out, to which I had no idea either. Mom said a team of dr's and nurses came rushing in and hovered over Alana. I am not sure what they had to do to her, but I do know that God was watching over her and must have special plans for her life. We finally heard that precious newborn baby cry and I found out she was, in fact, a girl!

I then just wanted to go to sleep! :0)

So, to our dear Alana, we love you and hope you will allow God to use you however He sees fit!
She has already gone on a date with her daddy to IHOP this morning. Here are some pictures from their date.

Smokies baseball game 2008

We had the opportunity to go to another Smokies game this past Friday with a couple of friends, and we had so much fun. The weather couldn't have been better. It was overcast with a nice breeze. What a pleasant evening! Thanks to Kelly and Alisha for driving us down there.

Baseball season 2008

Well, baseball season has officially come and gone already this year! It goes by so fast. Caleb's team came in first winning all but one of their games. Austin's team, coached by Daddy, came in second, surprisingly enough. We had alot of hurdles to overcome, including a key player breaking an arm before the first game, a player never showing up for a game and vacations by many of the players, but through it all, the players were great! Daddy had lots of fun coaching again this year too! Here are some highlights from the last games.
Austin, #10!Austin walking out to his position, first base, which BTW, he did a great job!!Isn't he so cute?? :0)Austin up to bat. He was a great hitter too, when he used the right bat!Austin waiting for instructions from the first base coach, Daddy.

Thanks for tuning in. There is always so much to post about and not much time to do it. Pretty soon we will be posting about the new baby, then school, then.....well, you get the picture! I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer!

Something that was brought to my attention.......

If Obama wins the election then we will be an

Obamanation

(abomination).

Coincidence? I don't think so!!

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people,

which are called by my name,

shall humble themselves,

and pray,

and seek my face,

and turn from their wicked ways;

then will I hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sin,

and will heal their land.

Bethany's birthday fun!

Bethany's birthday celebration actually started early with a little party while at the beach. This is her present from Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Allison and Ashton.

She got up early yesterday to go on a breakfast date with Daddy. It wore her out and she was asleep before lunch!

But she was up and dressed like Cinderella before Daddy came home for lunch!
For the kid's birthdays, I let them pick out their birthday dinner. This was Bethany's choice......hot dogs, chips, chocolate milk, chocolate cupcakes and mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Everyone (except Caleb who is at Basketball Camp) enjoying Bethany's birthday dinner.
Happy 6th birthday, Bethany!Sarah Joy "cheesing" it up!
Bethany opening Nonnie and Papa's birthday card.
Do you think she is excited??
She is not taking her eyes off that $10 bill! :0)
Receiving her gift from Alana.
Alana made her a ring out of beads!
Sisters by birth.....Friends by choice!
All dressed up in her birthday dress, ready for church! **side note....we have had 3 kids birthdays so far this year, and everyone of them were on a church day!**
After church, we went over to the college for another float and to spend some time with Caleb. He is worn out from basketball camp. He said they go to bed everynight after 12 and have to get up at 6AM. They play ball every morning and afternoon.

Children's children are the crown of old men;
and the glory of children are their fathers.
