The Names of Jesus!

Here is an excerpt from one of Tony Hutson's messages on the names of Jesus. Be sure to turn the sound down on the song on the right before playing this video, then hold on to your seats!!! Wooo hooo!

Philippians 2:9
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,
and given him a name which is above every name:
10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

President's Day Fun

We had such a fun day yesterday. The kids were off of school for a Regional Teacher's Clinic. Austin was able to write his book report and also get some stuff accomplished for cub scouts! The bad news is Caleb was in the ER on Sunday night at which time we found out he has the flu! Ugh! He is already starting to feel better, thank the Lord! This has been the worst sick season in a very long time! I'm ready for it to warm up enough to air the germies out of the house!! Anyways, the highlight of our day yesterday was the kid's lunch!
Can you tell what it is? This is the kid's favorite. It is supposed to resemble an octopus swimming in an ocean. However, I did not have green or blue food coloring, so I told the kids the octopus was swimming in koolaid!! It is a hot dog on top of Ramen noodles! Who would have thought such a simple meal could be so loved by kids? *giggle*
I think Austin loves this the most! He is saying "yes" with much enthusiasm! He ate the legs first and left little stubbies. I told him he had a midget octopus! LOL!
Alana ate the octopus body first so she had octopus legs all in her ramen noodles! So funny!
Yes, Bethany is wearing dress up. This is her "normal" attire when hanging around the house! She loves dress up. She informed me she did not like ketchup in her ramen noodles! Yes, Noah has a bed head. This is also his normal look when around the house! :)
Sarah Joy's new thing is sucking her pointer finger.
Some of you may remember how she used to suck her 2 middle fingers. She did that for quite awhile until she discovered pacifiers at about 1 year of age. I know....silly mistake.
Well, now that the paci is gone, she has found her pointer finger. She usually only sucks it when she is tired, but she is starting to do it more and more. Her little knuckle is turning all red! I'm not sure if I should give her the paci back and break her of her finger or what? Any ideas? It is still so very cute, but I am thinking of 4 year old Noah who STILL sucks his thumb!!! Yikes!

I hope you are all having a wonderful February!

A delightful Valentine's Day!

Hi to all my fellow bloggers! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. We had a very busy one! Ski, Noah, Sarah Joy and I were at an appointment for about 2 hours!! Ugh! We left straight from there to make it to Austin, Alana & Bethany's school valentine parties. Alana brought a friend home from school with her, and we were back at the gym that evening to watch the district competition high school games. Talk about a fun, busy, exciting day!
When Ski came home from work he gave me a valentine's card (he already gave me my gifts) and I was so delightfully surprised! He had written me a poem!!! I have his permission to post it on here since I posted one I wrote to him last time! ;+)

"Amy, Sorry about the crinkles in this card.
I've been carrying it around in my pocket all day, so keeping it hid has been really hard.
I know today hasn't been as wonderful as it could be,
But if you look on the bright side, you got to spend most of it with me!
I am very grateful to have you as the love of my life.
It just seems like yesterday we were walking on the beach and you said "yes" when I asked you to be my wife.
I promise to love you now and forever.
You won't be able to get out of my heart. No, not ever!"

OK, so wasn't that so sweet?? I love you too, honey!

Ephesians 5:33
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself;
and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

A poem for my Valentine

I found an old poem I wrote for Ski a few years ago and thought with Valentine's Day approaching, it would be an appropriate time to post it. I love you Ski!
I used to say I wasn't gonna fall.
I was gonna stand up straight and tall.
I wasn't gonna let anyone into my heart.
I couldn't have it again be broken apart.
No way! No how! I wouldn't let it be.
I would never let anyone else hurt me.
Then one day I met a man that I'd known from long ago.
We talked for awhile, then he said "You, I'd like to get to know."
I said "Ok, I think that's nice, but don't expect too much.
My guard is up just so you know, my heart you'll never touch."
That's when I told him my heart had been shattered by too many of his kind.
With a tear in his eye he says "But you are the one I've been trying to find."
He says he doesn't want to hurt me but if that is so true,
Why is my heart starting to hurt and why am I so blue?
He captures my full attention as he reaches out his hand.
He tries to let me know he really does understand.
The pain is there! I feel it now! I have to let you go!
I want to hide! I start to run! But my heart starts screaming "NO!"
What do you mean? I have to run! I can't get hurt anymore -
Hurry up, I see a way - there is an open door!
The closer I get to the door, the more I start to cry.
When suddenly my heart starts to whisper "He's not the reason why.
He's not the reason your heart hurts and why there's pain deep inside.
He's not the reason why you want to run or why you want to hide.
The pain is coming from you alone - you need to see the light.
He wants to love you with all he is - there's no need for you to fight.
Pick up your head, turn around and look him straight in the eye.
If you look deep enough you'll know - he's not the reason why.
I turn and look but all I see.....
Wait! This can not be.
How can this be true?
All I see is me, when I look at you.
You really do love me. How could I have been so blind?
To think I almost ran away from the love I've been waiting to find.

The Lord will protect from the wicked!!

Psalm 91
1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2. I will say of the LORD,
He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.
3. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
and from the noisome pestilence.
4. He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7. A thousand shall fall at thy side,
and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
8. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
9. Because thou hast made the LORD,
which is my refuge,
even the most High,
thy habitation;
10. There shall no evil befall thee,
neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11. For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.
12. They shall bear thee up in their hands,
lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14. Because he hath set his love upon me,
therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high,
because he hath known my name.
15. He shall call upon me,
and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him.
16. With long life will I satisfy him,
and shew him my salvation.

Happy February!

Can you believe it is already February? I don't see how time can go by any faster! Ok, so, I asked my husband how he liked my last post (which I found to be quite humorous) and he chuckled. I asked what he was laughing at and he replied by telling me that the whole post boiled down to my last sentence! I guess that shows one of the major differences between men and women! LOL! I had to captivate my audience! hehe!

Not much has been going on since my last post. We had a couple of friends stay with us last weekend while their parents went to candidate at a church in Illinois. We are trying to read through the Bible this year, so this picture was from last weekend during Bible time. I guess they were tired, huh?
I was also so very excited to get this comforter set for the girls room. We had switched their bunk beds with Noah's full bed not too long ago, and I had been searching for a pretty comforter to go with their room. Bethany's favorite color is pink and Alana's is purple. I found this one on ebay for a very good deal! The girls came home from school and were so excited to see it! Thank you Lord!!

I guess that's all for now. The kids were working on their homecoming posters this week. I will post pictures of the finished product when we get the posters back! Hope you all have a wonderful, blessed day!
