Praise the Lord

As some of you know, I started working at a local grocery store as a cashier in the evenings. My honey is able to stay home with the children, thus not having to pay a babysitter. Last night was my first night on the register by myself. All was good. I enjoy talking to people and make their shopping trip as pleasant as possible. I went on my break and called my honey. He was busy (can't imagine how one could be busy with 7 children in the house! LOL!) so we didn't talk very long. I still had about 5 minutes, so I decided to call my mom super quick. I grabbed my drink, candy bar and phone, clocked back in and went back to my register. After another 2 hours, it was time to go home. I reached under my register, way in the back under the grocery bag holder and got my drink, candy bar and phone.....oh wait! Where is my phone?? I turned to the girl on the register behind me and said "Do you have my phone?" She told me she didn't. By this time, everyone is starting to realize that something is going on. I asked all the courtesy clerks, aka bag boys, if they took my phone. All replied no. I told them if they were playing a joke on the new girl that it isn't funny!!! They assured me they had nothing to do with it. The front end manager is now involved, lost and found had been checked. NO PHONE! All the young people that I work with asked me what kind of phone it was. I explained to them that it was not a phone to brag about. It wasn't pretty or cute, but just a plain ole to-go phone. The worst part was that my honey had just put $50 on it about an hour before I went to work. I was getting sick to my stomach. The manager went to view the security cameras while we tried to call the phone. No answer. At this point the manager is telling us that there was a little boy playing around my register. She saw him grab something, but couldn't verify what it was. I decided it was time to go home, with no phone.
I got in the van and a thought came to my mind. God wants me to pray and ask Him for His help. So, guess what I did. I prayed! I prayed that God would allow this child's parents to find the phone and also that they would return it. The phone was on vibrate, so this child could very well hide it and the parents not find it nor hear it ring. I also prayed that I would be able to be a good testimony to this family. I believe in divine appointments, and I was sure that this was going to be one of them.
When I got home, my honey asked me how my day was. I told him it was horrible. He joked asking me if I got fired. I gently broke the news to him that my phone was stolen. He ever so kindly reminded me that he had just put $50 on it, as if I hadn't already thought of that! He called my phone, but still no answer. He went online to see if he could cancel the phone or report it stolen. His phone started to ring and when he turned it over to look at caller i.d. I excitedly said "It's me! Answer it!"
It was the mom of the 4 year old boy who took the phone. She was very apologetic and asked if we could meet so the boy could return the phone. I agreed to meet her back up at the store. So, me, Austin and Alana ran in the van and drove back to the store and waited for their arrival. Of course, everyone that I work with are still hyped up over the whole incident. This was the highlight of our night! LOL!
The family finally arrived after a couple of minutes that seemed like forever, and the little boy came over to me with big, brown puppy dog eyes that looked like they were going to drown his face in tears, and he handed me my phone. I told him I forgave him. While I was squatting down, talking to the little boy, Austin handed this man a tract with information on how they can know the Lord as their Savior. I thanked them for bringing the phone back and told them how I prayed the whole way home.
I am now praying that this family, if they don't know Christ, will come to know HIM as their personal Savior and I am thanking my God above for answering even the little things, although it didn't feel so little at the time. My God loves me and wants to show me everyday how much. If I can trust God with my phone, shouldn't I be able to trust Him with my life, the life of my husband and the lives of my children?
Absolutely!!
Thank you, God, for this sweet reminder!

Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
