So much happening

It seems I just can't keep up with all that is happening around here. I will make a confession. It seems that every little thing around here, I always think "This will make for a good blog" then I go grab the camera. Sad, huh? Maybe not, because that means I am blessed beyond measure with so much to blog about! Thank you Lord for your blessings on me!

Let's see. On Thursday, I got my hair permed. What was I thinking? Just kidding. It did take some getting used to, but I am starting to like it! Here are some before and after pictures.

Alana decided she wanted a perm too. Fortunately, I had some perm rollers. So after her bath, we dried and rolled her hair. Isn't she beautiful??

On Saturday we had an interesting day! The boys were outside playing while me and the girls were working on our fall/winter clothes and Daddy was working on the puter. Well, all of the sudden the boys swing the door open and yells "A snake just fell out of the tree!!!!" I am not a fan of snakes, so I calmly tell Daddy he needs to go take care of that as I hand him the camera! I am also an inquisitive person (thats a nice way to say nosey) and couldn't stand not knowing what was going on out there. So, I had to go check it out. This is what I saw.....

I was thinking, that isn't so bad. It's just a snake SKIN. Then I thought, if there is skin, there is snake! Yuk! That is a mighty big snake too! Yikes. The boys were very excited and said it just fell out of the tree!

Okay, so we went back on our merry way. The girls and I back to our clothes and daddy back to the computer. The next time the door swings open, Austin announces to everyone this "We just caught a snake, just so you know." No excitement, nothing. Just stated a fact. My heart skipped a beat and I just said "daddy!". He knew what that meant. Here we go again, back outside. They are bringing it to us to see. This is the highlight of my career! *rolls eyes*

Here it is! It was actually pretty. *Notice the term WAS.....more on that later* He was pretty small, although the picture makes him look a little on the large side. I was thinking, thats not too bad. A cute little snake. Then my thoughts quickly went back to reality and it occured to me that this cute little snake probably has a momma! *shudder*

Now for the "was" part of the story. The boys were planning on keeping this "little" snake, at least to show it off to their friends. However, our dog, Smokie, had other plans. He knocked the bucket over, so we do not know if he ate this snake or if it got away. Either way, we have not seen it since. *shudder again*

Now for my last story. Today is labor day. Notice the term LABOR, so we have been laboring today! *smile* Noah and Bethany were helping Mommy do laundry. I had sent Noah to the kitchen to put the towels in the drawer. It was taking him an awful long time, so I went to check on him. This is what I found. I said "Noah, put that thing away!" BTW, it is my gripper to open jars. I bet you can't guess what he is doing!

He said "Mom, I am trying to blow it up so it will ribbit!"

(We call passing gas doing a "ribbit", which is a story all on it's own!!LOL)

Now, be honest........did anyone guess right??
