The cubscout troup 221 were there to greet people and pass out bulletins.
A group from the church was also passing out free slushies before the service began. What a nice treat!
The 1st-6th grade Temple Baptist Academy choir sang songs about our great nation as a prelude to the service.
Here is Bethany going up to sing. As you can see behind her, there were people from the community sitting around hearing the Gospel as we talked about this great nation!
Alana is all done singing! Great job, Alana!
The service started with the whirring of a fire truck. Then the Knoxville Fired Dept. did an awesome job of presenting our colors and we all said the Pledge of Allegiance.
Here is about half of the audience as we are all reciting the American Creed.
This is the 5th and 6th grade Temple Baptist Academy choir singing more patriotic songs! (Austin is on the front row. There are 2 cubscouts side by side and he is the one on our right)
The Crown College Choir singing the military songs to honor all those who served the United States of America! When the particular branch that they served in was sung, they stood up and the crowd cheered and clapped. I got goosebumps!
Here is my friend, Kelsey, playing the violin for the singing special before our guest speaker, Mr. Phipps, came to speak.
Here are some random snapshots from the night....
First is my beautiful pastor's wife, Mrs. Sexton.
Sweet, baby Jared.
Daddy and Jared.
Mommy, Noah, Jared (not sure he is liking the big squeeze!) and Sarah Joy.
Noah, Jared (what a face!) and Sarah Joy.
Caleb and Jared. My oldest and youngest!
I love this picture! I love the way Jared is looking up at Caleb!
Sweet kisses!!
Noah in front of the huge ol'e American flag!!
Sarah Joy cheesing it up while enjoying her slushie!

Last, but certainly not least, it's me and my honey!!!
Knoxville remembers, and so do I!
May we all never forget!
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people,
which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray,
and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.

Well, that brought tears to my eyes! Great blog, as always! So many emotions went through me as I read it and looked at the photos. What a great country we live in, what a blessing to be part of this family and last but not least, what a mighty God we serve!!!!!
Thank you, God, for your blessings on me!!!
I absolutely LOVE these photos Amy!!!!
We should NEVER forget 9/11. My husband's police department asked for volunteers to help out at the Pentagon... he went and spent hours there directing traffic! I personally will NEVER forget!
Great post!
