Christmas caroling with the cubscouts

Last night we were able to take the cubscout group christmas caroling! We loaded up 2 buses (after eating chili, chips and cheese! :S) and headed out. First, we went to the Heritage Assisted Living Home where we hold church services.
Here is Bethany with her friend, Alexis.
This is the newest couple in "our" home. They moved in together about a month ago now. They are both a great encouragement to us. They know their Bible and Mr. Queener always has words of wisdom to share when he is able to make it to the service. The lady on the far right, Ms. Barbara, has been there at least 4 years, because that is how long we have been going there.
Ms. Kay ( also been there as long as we have) and Ms. Carrie are very excited to see us! They had been patiently waiting our arrival fro 30 minutes! :)
This is Ms. Ernestine. She is somewhat new and although she can be scary at times (she is a tall lady), she really is sweet and wants to play with and love on the kids every Sunday.
This is Sandra (left) and Eva with her grandson. Sandra has been here since before we started, but was just recently hospitalized. They weren't sure she was going to make it for a bit there. She then went to a nursing home and was just recently well enough to come back to Heritage. We are thankful for answered prayers on Sandra's behalf. Ms. Eva is one of the newer ones too and is very sweet! She has alzeimers, so she doesn't remember us from week to week.
Sandra and Ms. Eva were both enjoying the Christmas carols.
Daddy and Austin leading singing.
We had a very good group of cubscouts, parents and families that joined us!
This is Ms. Lucille. She is the oldest one in the home. She will be 95 on Jan 6. She also has alzeimers, so she does not remember us from week to week, but she knows her Bible!
Next, we went to a nursing home down the street from Heritage. We just walked the hallways here, singing as we went. Sometimes we were singing together, and other times, well, we weren't! :)

We had a great night and are very thankful we are part of a church that reaches out to others, especially the elderly. Some of these people never get visitors, so I am glad we were able to brighten their lives up, even if for just a few short moments!

Isaiah 12:5
Sing unto the LORD;
for he hath done excellent things:
this is known in all the earth.

We have done this with our church several times. We get a great blessing from it. We wouldn't miss it.
