We celebrated the birth of our daughter, Alana, on Tuesday, July 31, but we have been so busy, I haven't had a chance to upload her pictures and post a blog about her until now! Sorry, Alana!
Alana is our oldest daughter and a very big help to Mommy! She loves babies and helping take care of them. She is also very crafty and loves to do any kind of crafts. We had a family party for her at Nonnie and Papa's while we were on vacation, so she didn't have a big friend party. In the above picture, she is squishing her tongue between where her teeth are supposed to be. She lost 2 teeth this summer.
First thing on Tuesday morning, Daddy took Alana out to breakfast! That was a very special time. They went to Hardees and ate outside on the patio! Aawww, how sweet!
Then, the kids all went outside. They know their boundaries when playing outside, so that Mommy can always see/hear them. Well, I was busy inside, when I realized it was awfully quiet out there. I went to the front porch and called for Caleb (you know the oldest always gets the brunt of everything). No answer. I called again, still no answer. Well, I thought to myself, they are probably at the base of the woods in the "fort" the boys just built. So, I went back inside and busied myself some more. It was still quiet outside. HHhmmmm, the worries started. I went out back and called for Caleb again. Then I heard "Maam?" and this is what I saw.........

My little soldiers had gone on a "hike".

Since we do not celebrate Easter by coloring eggs and having "easter egg hunts", we thought this would be a fun thing to do on Alana's birthday. So, Mommy boiled some eggs that were out of date, then the kids colored, dyed, hid and found them! They had sooooo much fun!

There is always time to catch a grasshopper!!! *giggle*

What was Sarah Joy doing during all this time? She was enjoying her new swing that Daddy hung for her! Thank you Daddy for putting my swing up! I love it!

Mommy's first cake! LOL! I had fun, but it would be alot easier if I had the proper tools to decorate a cake! hehehehe!

Happy Birthday Alana! We love you....
A quick word of caution......if you eat too much of Mommy's cake, you just may end up looking like this.........
or this..........
Psalms 78:29a
So they did eat, and were well filled:

Hi Amy and Family! Happy birthday Alana!
That's a good idea about decorating the eggs for something fun for the kids to do :) One of my aunts made me an egg one year and she had decorated it with a felt hat and pretty beads.
Have a great weekend!

wow, where does all that time go? I found it so funny that we too have a Sarah Joy. She is really a joy.
AmyQ: You have a Sarah Joy too? Do you call her by both names as well? Our Sarah Joy is truly a joy too! So fun catching up with you!
