We had a very pleasant, yet humbling blessing 2 weeks ago. I meant to tell you all about this before, but got busy with other posts. However, I became convicted by a fellow blogger who was explaining to give God the glory for blessings or he may take them away. So, here is our story. On Sunday night, the 12th, we received this note as we walked into church. "Dear Sikorski Family, Thanks for the Christian testimony you as family have for Christ. Mat the Lord richly bless you as you serve Him. Psalm 34:8 'O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.' Please use this money for your family. Serving Christ together"
There was a certain amount of money included in this letter.
Here is the good part - not that receiving money from an anonymous person wasn't good: We were getting ready to write a check for our tithe and hope that we would have time the next day to put our paycheck in the bank to cover the tithe check. The amount given in this envelope was the exact amount to pay our tithe plus missions, plus the tithe for the amount given. Isn't that amazing how the Lord worked that out? The Sunday previous was "Prove the Lord by proving the tithe" Sunday. The Lord continues to prove Himself over and over again.
I cried as I read the letter and looked around to see if I could figure out who did this great thing. The Lord then convicted me and said to allow them to be anonymous. This was from the Lord through someone special! If that someone is reading this blog, we as a family want to express our thanks to you!
Luke 6:38
Give, and it shall be given unto you;
good measure,
pressed down,
and shaken together,
and running over,
shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
